Finding A Web Host

Finding a web host isn’t an easy thing to do. With all of the companies out there charging $2.99 per month, how do you know which ones are good?

The short answer is, if you’re paying $2.99 a month, there’s little chance that you are with a good host. Here are some important points to look for when choosing a web host:

Customer Service

How can you get a hold of your host if you have a problem? Have you tried it? Do they have an 800 number, and if so, is it answered by a real person and not a system that puts you on hold for half an hour or more? When you do file a ticket by phone or online, how quickly does it get resolved? If your site is down, I guarantee 6 hours won’t cut it for you.

Reliability

Does your host offer an uptime guarantee? Do they have records showing that sites hosted with them are available 99.9% of the time or more? You want your site up 100% of the time, no less.

More To Come

I’ll add more to this page in the coming days and weeks. I know a lot of sites say that and get abandoned, but I am serious! I am a real live person and I’m not going to let this page die.
